South-East leaders on Saturday refused to endorse the choice of former governor Peter Obi as the running mate to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Abubakar Atiku.
The group stated that they were not consulted before the choice and announcement was made, and that they had booked an appointment to see Atiku over the matter.
Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi who spoke on behalf of the South-East PDP leaders, noted that they would not reject any candidate from the south east chosen for the position of running mate to Atiku.
According to him, Atiku said he was outside the country on a short visit, and that he would meet with the leaders as soon as he returns to Nigeria.
Governor Umahi emphasisied, that “the leaders of South-East are not aware that our presidential candidate has chosen a running mate
